Fendi Baguette Leather Care Review: How to Protect a Designer Bag

A Fendi Baguette Chain Midi Leather Bag in black

This is my very first designer handbag, gifted by my husband as a wedding present. I’ve been using it for two years now.

Although it’s a luxury bag, I’ve carried it everywhere and used it freely. Naturally, it has picked up scratches, the gold-tone hardware has lost some of its shine, and the leather near the seams is starting to wear down.

Quick Note: Designer leather bags still need regular care, especially after daily use. TORRI Leather Care helped refresh the look of this black Fendi leather bag, soften worn areas, and add a protective layer to help prevent further dryness and surface damage.

Customer care note: This review was shared by one of our customers after using TORRI Leather Care on her designer leather bag. We believe many leather bag owners face the same problem — scratches, worn seams, dry areas, and fading shine after daily use. Here’s how a simple care routine can help protect your leather bag before the damage gets worse.

Why I Decided to Care for My Designer Bag

Because it was such an investment, I wanted to start taking better care of it — even if a little late 🥲

Since this is such an expensive bag, I was really nervous about using just any leather product.

That’s why I decided to try TORRI Leather Care, a product known for being safe even on high-end designer bags.

And most of all, it was so easy to use!

What Comes in the TORRI Leather Care Kit

It came with the cutest pouch, plus everything I needed: the Leather Care product, an applicator, four suede cloths, and a microfiber towel.

I was a little worried about the glass bottle breaking during shipping, but the packaging was super secure and everything arrived safely.

I also checked the ingredients. It’s made from 100% mineral-based SiO₂, or silicon dioxide, which means it conditions the leather without changing its appearance. So I felt reassured knowing this was designed for luxury leather.

Let’s see how it works!

Before: Scratches, Dull Hardware, and Worn Seams

Mine is black, so the scratches on the leather aren’t super noticeable, but the gold hardware definitely shows some wear. The seams on the sides have started to lose their shine, and the leather is peeling a bit 😭

How I Applied TORRI Leather Care

Before and after using TORRI Leather Care on a black leather designer bag

Step 1: Apply.
First, I put about 10 drops of TORRI onto the suede cloth and applied it evenly across the leather — front, back, everywhere.

Step 2: Focus on worn areas.
I gave extra attention to the worn-out seams because those areas open, close, and rub more often.

Step 3: Let it absorb.
I let the conditioner soak in for about 30 minutes.

Step 4: Buff gently.
After that, I wiped off any excess with the microfiber towel.

After applying it, my bag looked richer in color and had a beautiful natural shine. Even the worn seams felt softer, so they don’t peel more every time I open or close the bag.

Even after wiping, the shine was still there — my bag looked gorgeous.

Of course, the scratches didn’t magically disappear because the leather was already damaged. But now there’s a protective coated layer that helps prevent further damage, so I’m planning to keep using it regularly.

After: Softer Feel and Natural Shine

What I loved most was how the shine came back and how soft the leather felt after.

Since it’s safe for designer bags, I feel even more confident using it on my other leather pieces. And with how much product is in the bottle, I think I’ll be set for years.

Final result after using TORRI Leather Care on designer handbag

Next time I get a new bag, I’m definitely going to coat it with TORRI right away. The process is so simple — perfect for someone like me who hates anything fussy.

FAQ: Designer Bag Leather Care

What leather product or conditioner is recommended for a new bag?

For a new leather bag, it is best to use a gentle leather care product that focuses on maintenance and protection, rather than heavy cleaning. A product like TORRI Leather Care can help condition the leather, support moisture balance, and protect high-touch areas such as handles, corners, seams, and flap edges before dryness or wear becomes visible.

Can leather conditioner remove scratches from a designer bag?

Leather conditioner cannot completely remove scratches that have already damaged the leather surface. However, conditioning can help make minor scratches look less visible by moisturizing the leather and making the color appear richer and more even. TORRI Leather Care helps create a natural cared-for finish, not a cheap glossy shine, while supporting protection against further dryness and wear.

How often should I condition a designer leather bag?

For most designer leather bags, conditioning 2–3 times a year is a good general routine. Bags used often, exposed to dry air, or showing worn seams may need more regular care depending on the leather condition.

Should I condition a new designer bag right away?

Conditioning a new designer bag early can help protect the leather before dryness, cracking, or wear begins. It is especially helpful for high-touch areas such as handles, corners, seams, and flap edges.

Is TORRI Leather Care safe for luxury leather bags?

TORRI Leather Care is made with a mineral-based SiO₂ formula and is designed for gentle leather conditioning and protection. For any expensive or delicate designer bag, always test first in a hidden area before applying it across the surface.

Which parts of a leather bag need the most care?

High-contact and high-friction areas need the most care. These include handles, corners, seams, flap edges, straps, and areas that open and close often. These parts can dry, peel, or wear faster than the rest of the bag.
